As we grow, we are establishing our first in-house Head of Legal position to build and lead our legal function. This is a unique opportunity to shape the legal framework and risk management approach in a dynamic, high-growth company with an impactful mission.
Role Summary
The Head of Legal will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal matters across the Sensio group. You will act as a strategic partner to the management team, supporting the company’s commercial activities, M&A initiatives, corporate governance, and compliance processes.
This is a newly created role where you will establish Sensio’s internal legal capabilities, reduce dependency on external advisers, and ensure the business operates within a sound legal and regulatory framework.
This position is based in Sensio’s offices in Oslo and will report to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Advisory & Risk Management
Serve as the primary legal advisor for all matters across the organization.
Provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice to management and departments.
Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks.
Provide legal counsel on international expansion decisions, including market entry and acquisitions.
Commercial Contracts
Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial agreements.
Standardize templates and support contract management processes.
Mergers & Acquisitions
Support M&A activity including due diligence, structuring, and integration.
Collaborate with external counsel and internal stakeholders on transactions.
Corporate Governance
Advise on corporate structure, board governance, shareholder matters, and internal policies.
Ensure compliance with Norwegian and applicable international corporate law.
External Legal Coordination
Manage relationships with external legal providers and control legal spend.
Qualifications and Experience
Master of Laws from a recognized institution.
Minimum 4 years of experience from a top-tier law firm and minimum 2 years from an in-house legal role.
Strong experience in commercial contracts and M&A transactions.
Knowledge of data protection, compliance, and IP/IT law is a plus.
Experience in an international setting, leading and collaborating with external law firms.
Experience with a Private Equity-backed or scale-up company is advantageous.
Fluency in both Norwegian and English (written and spoken).
